Heck -- Zander Cannon

Heck starts out with the lead character, Heck at his fathers funeral and we learn that he was quite a big-shot in high school. He has returned home to pack up his fathers house and take care of family business.

Heck teams up with Elliot, the faithful water-boy from Heck's high school football team and together they start packing up the house. They find a gateway to hell and start their own business communicating with those in hell for those on Earth that want final closure.

It is a really imaginative book, inspired by Dante's Inferno. Heck travels down through the different levels of Hell throughout the story for his job and encounters different troubles, meets people along the way, learns more about himself but learns the most through his selfless friend Elloit.

As dark as this book would seem to be, since it is about hell, it is really charming and mainly about friendship.
